Well done!! I know how amazing the apprenticeship really is and it’s life changing! I’m so happy!!!! One of the many messages received this morning, this one from former apprentice Jonjoe Boulter.

The National Apprenticeship Awards, now in their 12th year, celebrated the success of the country’s most exceptional apprentices and apprenticeship employers. The awards challenge top apprenticeship employers and apprentices across England to come forward and show how apprenticeships have made a real difference to their organisation and careers.

Snow-Camp offers a career in snowsports accessible to those who never thought it possible. Our apprentices require courage and therein lies the attraction ensuring ‘hard to reach’ young people want to engage.

Snow-Camp apprentices join our team for a year as youth instructors and deliver programmes alongside industry placements, whilst studying for an activity leadership NVQ qualification. Furthermore, a Business Management apprentices is required to support the charity at our headquarters.

Lara Kinnear said “It is such an honour to have received this award in recognition of our apprenticeship programme. Thank you to all our fantastic supporters and snowsports industry partners, who have believed in the programme from the start and have provided work placements within their companies. We have had many strong outcomes with snowsports companies offering employment opportunities for the young people once they complete the 12 month programme, which is a very powerful message to send out to young people just starting out with the charity. It motivates young people to achieve more and makes it a very attainable goal, as they can clearly see what is possible from others who have done so before them”.

Skills Minister Nick Boles said: “A big congratulations to all the apprentices and employers in the South East who impressed the judges today. From local businesses to large household names, from intermediate to degree apprentices, all of today’s winners truly deserve this recognition. The success of each winner reminds us of how crucial apprenticeships are in supporting our workforce, our businesses and our economy”.

Reporting at the event the National Apprenticeship Service said “The Awards enable talented apprentices and committed employers to receive the recognition they richly deserve. They not only help celebrate the achievements of apprentices and businesses, allowing them to gain the credit for investing in their own futures, but they drive up quality and encourage others to get involved.

Today’s winners are the best of the best in the South East and I would like to congratulate them on their achievements. They deserve to be rewarded for their efforts. There has never been a better time to become an apprentice or employ one”.
