The 2014 /15 season has passed far too quickly here at BASI. We wanted to take some time to look back at the past few months and celebrate some of the highlights of the season.
This year a record 17 courses ran in the mountains in Scotland, making Cairngorm mountain one of our most popular venues! With several requests every year that we run more courses in Scotland we hope this is a step forward and are looking forward to improving this next year as well as welcoming other UK resorts as venues.
We’ve scheduled level 3 courses during school holiday weeks, allowing teachers and others who are limited to school holidays to continue to work through the BASI system.
We’ve increased the number of refresher courses scheduled in the UK after the increase in demand last year.
As there were no Telemark and Nordic level ones in the UK last year, we’ve scheduled one of each for 2015.
From the Members’ survey carried out, the course with the most requests was the Alpine UKCP level 1 course, so we’ve scheduled twice as many UKCP level 1’s this year as last year.
We’re running courses and venues that are new or haven’t been used in recent years such as Newmilns Dry Ski Slope in Ayrshire and Firpark Dry Ski Slope in Clackmannanshire.
